We know that as parents, you want your little ones to grow up strong, happy, and full of curiosity - and so do we! That’s why our Healthy Minds, Healthy Bodies approach is all about helping children thrive both physically and emotionally.
From dancing to the beat in our Boogie Mites sessions, to discovering where carrots come from in our growing areas, we make learning about health fun and meaningful. Whether it’s brushing teeth, choosing nutritious meals, or understanding big feelings, we’re here to support every step of their journey.
The early years are a time of incredible growth for your child - physically, emotionally, and cognitively. The experiences children have during this time lay the foundation for how they learn, relate to others, and navigate the world around them.
When children are physically active, well-nourished, and emotionally supported, they’re not just healthier - they’re better able to focus, explore, and build the skills they’ll use for life.

What we do
Moving our bodies with purpose through our Boogie Mites programme!
It’s more than just movement - it’s a fun and engaging way for children to learn about the impact of exercise on their bodies, develop communication and language skills, and build confidence and coordination through music and rhythm.
We teach children the importance of good food and nutrition, helping them make healthy choices from an early age.
Our approach includes carefully planned menus that are balanced and nutritious, opportunities to explore where food comes from through our growing areas, and encouraging curiosity about ingredients, cooking, and healthy eating.
We support children in learning how to take care of themselves in everyday life.
This includes teaching oral health and the importance of brushing teeth, helping children understand how to stay sun safe during outdoor play, encouraging independence in hygiene and self-care routines, and learning how to identify and manage their feelings and emotions.

Why it matters
-
Physical activity helps build strong bones and muscles, improves coordination, and supports brain development. It also boosts mood and helps children sleep better.
-
Good nutrition fuels growing bodies and minds. A balanced diet supports concentration, energy levels, and immune health - plus, it helps children develop lifelong healthy habits.
-
Emotional wellbeing is key to resilience. When children learn to recognise and manage their feelings, they’re more confident, empathetic, and ready to form positive relationships.
Babies
From the moment babies join us, our practitioners carefully plan sensory-rich experiences -think fragrant herbs to sniff, squishy textures to touch, and vibrant colours to gaze at - all designed to spark curiosity and support early development.
Our growing gardens are more than just leafy fun, they’re mini learning hubs where babies can stretch, crawl, and discover the wonders of nature, laying the groundwork for physical, cognitive, and sensory growth.
Our practitioners also support good oral health and emotional wellbeing, helping babies build trust, express feelings, and form strong relationships in a nurturing environment. It’s all part of helping your baby grow into a happy, healthy little pioneer!
Toddlers
Toddlers are busy growing strong minds and bodies - and having a brilliant time doing it! With Boogie Mites, music becomes a magical tool for learning. Whether they’re clapping, stomping, or singing along, toddlers build attention spans, boost their language skills, and learn to groove together, all while developing coordination and confidence.
Out in the garden, they’re not just digging in the dirt - they’re growing their own fruit and veg, tasting their harvest, and learning what makes food healthy (and what doesn’t!). There’s even a sun cream song to sing while they apply it themselves - because learning about sun safety should be just as fun as playing in the sun.
Through stories like The Colour Monster, they begin to understand emotions, boundaries, and behaviours. With gentle guidance, they learn to self-regulate, recognise feelings, and follow our golden rules - skills that help them thrive both in nursery and at home. It’s all part of helping your little one grow into a confident, kind, and healthy Little Pioneer!
Pre-schoolers
Pre-schoolers are growing into confident, curious learners - ready to take on the world. Through our hands-on Rocket Gardens initiative, children dig into nature (literally!) by planting, tending, and harvesting seasonal fruit and veg. They even get to cook with their home-grown produce, learning about healthy eating in the most delicious way. Parents are invited to join the fun too, with workshops and opportunities to support gardening activities in the setting.
Indoors, the Boogie Mites School Ready Programme gets little minds buzzing with music and movement that builds attention, vocabulary, and early maths and literacy skills - all while encouraging teamwork, self-regulation, and a love of learning.
Outdoors, we embrace every season (yes, even the rainy ones!) with planned daily adventures that boost physical development, social skills, and sensory exploration. Preschoolers learn about sun safety through songs, stories, and routines, and they’re encouraged to take charge - applying their own sun cream and chatting about why it matters.
Emotional wellbeing is a big part of our day too. With tools like The Colour Monster, mirrors, emotion cards, and deep-breathing activities, children learn to name and manage their feelings, build empathy, and form strong relationships. We share these strategies with parents, along with our golden values and story suggestions, so the learning can continue at home, and help your child feel ready for their next big adventure – school!
