The next generation of Little Pioneers
We understand that choosing a nursery isn't just about childcare - it’s about trust, partnership, and understanding how each moment contributes to your child’s development. That’s why our nurseries are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where your child can begin to explore the world with confidence.
Your child’s head start at Little Pioneers
Starting nursery is a big milestone, and at Little Pioneers, we’re here to make that transition as smooth and positive as possible for both you and your little one.
That’s why our ‘Head Start’ journey begins with a gentle and thoughtful settling-in process. We take the time to get to know your child by learning about their likes, dislikes, routines, and developmental stage - right down to their favourite toys. This helps us create a familiar and comforting environment where your child feels safe and secure.
Our dedicated Key Person Approach, grounded in child development theory, ensures each child builds a strong, trusting relationship with a consistent adult who understands their unique needs.
We work closely with you as parents, sharing daily updates through the Famly app and collaborating on routines like weaning and sleep. This strong parent partnership not only supports your child’s emotional well-being but also fosters a love of learning and exploration from the very beginning.
Together, we’ll help your little one feel excited about nursery and confident in their new adventure!

We’ve developed our own curriculum called the Pioneering Pathway, which builds on the EYFS and reflects our Co-operative Values. It’s designed to support your child’s development across key areas like:
-
Communication and language
-
Physical development
-
Personal, social and emotional development
-
Literacy and mathematics
-
Understanding the world
-
Expressive arts and design
Tailored to your child's needs
We understand that children grow and learn at different rates. Some may race ahead in language, while others take their time with social skills - and that’s perfectly okay.
Your child’s Key Person plays a vital role in this journey. They build a strong, trusting relationship with your child and work closely with you to share progress, celebrate achievements, and support any areas where your child might need a little extra help.
What to expect at each stage of nursery life
Babies at nursery
Every cuddle, sound, movement, and interaction your baby experiences with us supports their key areas of growth.
From being comforted by their key person to exploring gentle sensory activities, every moment supports their emotional well-being and builds trust.
Through everyday routines such as feeding, nappy changes, and rest times, babies begin to develop strong attachments and a sense of security. Opportunities for tummy time, reaching, grasping, and exploring different sights, sounds, and textures encourage their physical development and growing curiosity about the world around them.
Toddlers at nursery
Your toddler’s everyday experiences at nursery play an important role in their growth and development.
Through activities such as early conversations with their key person, practising their balance while moving around the room, or exploring new textures through sensory play, toddlers develop key skills across all areas of learning.
Our focus is on supporting emotional, physical, and social development in age-appropriate ways. By encouraging these early steps, we help lay the foundations for confidence, independence, and a lifelong enjoyment of learning.
Pre-Schoolers at nursery
Pre-school is an exciting time at nursery, as children begin to develop independence, problem-solving skills, and confidence in their abilities.
Children are learning how to share, make friends, and express their own ideas. Through group play, conversations, and making choices, they develop the social skills they’ll carry with them into school. At the same time, active play - whether it’s climbing outside or practising with pencils and scissors - helps them strengthen coordination and build resilience.
We celebrate all the little achievements, like recognising letters, solving puzzles, or leading a game with friends, because each one is a step towards becoming confident, independent learners.
By the time they leave us, children are excited and ready for the next big adventure – school!
