Ready, steady, cook!
Pre-heat the oven to 200C
-
In a saucepan add the chicken, onion and leeks. Cover with milk. Bring to the boil and simmer for 25 minutes until the chicken is cooked.
-
When the chicken is cooked remove all the ingredients from the milk. Add 200g of flour to the chicken mixture and cook through for two minutes.
-
Slowly add the milk, stirring constantly to make a sauce. Then, make the pastry by sifting in 200g of flour and the soft spread and then rub in with your fingertips until it becomes breadcrumbs. Add 2-3 table spoons of water and mix into a firm dough. Finally, roll it out.
-
Cut it into 24, brush the pastry with the beaten egg then bake until golden brown. Place the pastry on top of the chicken when it is being served
-
Boil the mixed vegetables and serve.
