Child Friendly Recipe - Savoury Mince Beef, Mash and Veg

We love everything about food - growing it, learning about it and more importantly eating it. We use the freshest of seasonal ingredients that we can acquire so that at Little Pioneers we know our children are getting the best possible nutrition.

Here’s a fun recipe for you to put your cooking skills to the test: Savoury Mince Beef, Mash and Veg. Your little ones will love helping you out and but more importantly eating it!

 

Ingredients- 5 Portions: 

-         Carrots – 60g

-         Dried mixed herbs – 1.5g

-         Chopped Tomatoes – 160g

-         Peas – 60g

-         Large Spanish Onions – 40g

-         Minced Beef – 240g

-         Gravy – 30g

-         Fresh Potatoes – 450g

-         Black Pepper – 0.5g

To make this vegetarian, use soya mince instead of beef mince.

Ready, steady, cook!

  1. Firstly, dice the beef if it isn’t already and then dry fry this.

  2. Next, dice the onions and carrots and add these, the black pepper and the mixed herbs and cooks for 10 mins.

  3. Next, add the chopped tomatoes and 400ml of water and bring this to the boil.

  4. Then, add the gravy mix and the peas and cook on a low heat for about 35 minutes.

  5. Afterwards, cook the potatoes in boiling water until soft, drain them and then mash and finally serve this up all together.
